Current schoolyear 2023/2024 will witness a great jubilee of 50. edition of Geography Olympiad. To celebrate this magnificent occassion we want to share our passion and history of Olympiad - and show what we love geography for.

GeoNight2023 is coming! Also in 2023 Polish Geographical Society - the proud member of the Association of Geographical Societies in Europe EUGEO - supports "GeoNight", an initiative conceived to link countries on an international scale with small and medium events with geography in the heart. On April 1, 2022, the achievements of MapoFaktura 2022 workshops have been presented as a part of GeoNight initiative. The event was organized by the students of tourism and recreation programme at the University of Lodz, Faculty of Geographical Sciences. On the 2nd of March, 2022, the letter to Prof. Michael Meadows, President of the International Geographical Union, and Prof. Dr Barbaros Gönençgil, Secretary General of the IGU has been sent. Executives of the Polish Geographical Society asked to consider whether Russia should not be suspended as a full member of International Geographical Union. It must be clearly stated that this bottom-up initiative is supported by the entire community of the Polish Geographical Society and expresses solidarity with our Ukrainian colleagues.

The IALE 2022 Congress is IALE 2021+1, originally scheduled in 2021 but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On the September 8, 2021, President of Polish Geographical Society, prof.
